Ducks
When we showed the class our video there was one shot which the class were unsure about (the top one). So I edited it out, but then when watching the video it went straight from the man giving the trowel to the girls to them walking around the park. The change looked too sudden so we decided that we needed a filler shot but not the one we originally had. Therefore we went out to film another one and this one looked much better.Tuesday, 13 February 2018
Youtube
Youtube is really helpful as it helps us watch music videos from a desired genre. It also provides suggestions to similar music videos which helps us explore more genre codes and conventions.

Jessie J Comparison
I drew a lot of inspiration from the Jessie J magazine advert when creating mine. For starters, they both have the album cover at the top so that they link with their digipacks. I also used similar text at the bottom, however it was a coincidence that both have lines separating the texts. I had done this in my digipack before seeing the Jessie J advert, and I wanted to keep continuity between the advert and digipack, hence why I chose to do this. Lastly, I added a website to the bottom right corner instead of having it in the centre.

Final Advert
Also I chose to have a green box instead of the pink and yellow one as I used the pink and yellow image for my digipack, so I wanted to do something slightly different. The reason why I chose that specific green is because it is the same colour as the trowel on the album cover. Even though the colour on my advert is different to the digipack, they still link together as my advert has the album cover on it, so audiences will recognise it as soon as they see it.

Border
I asked a group of people if they liked the adverts with or without the border, and everyone said they preferred it with a border.
I then showed them eight different types of borders, where the colour of the border corresponded with the colours of the bottom block, and asked them to vote on which they preferred the most.

As you can see, the votes are quite close between 1, 2, 5 and 6, which means the final decision is up to my personal preference.

Spotify
This year I relied heavily on Spotify to help find our song choice. Spotify has a genre and moods section where it provides songs from a chosen genre. This helped us find our song while looking at other potential songs.
Editing softwares
Throughout AS I used many different editing softwares.
iMovie was used predominantly when editing the music video as this is the software downloaded onto the computer. Then at home I trimmed the GoPro shots using the GoPro CineForm Studio, and then uploaded them to iMovie at school after.
For the ancillary tasks I used Powerpoint, Photoshop and the Signature tool on the Trackpad. These three combined helped me create a professional digipack and advert.

Receipt
When receiving audience feedback, someone pointed out that the receipt show shows that we only spent 30p, when previously we put many items in the basket. However we decided to leave this as the shot is only 2.1 seconds and you don't see these items later on in the music video, so how much they spent doesn't affect the storyline at all.

Evaluation Questions
- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
- How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
- What have you learned from your audience feedback?
- How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Editing to the beat
I wanted some more editing to the beat in the music video, so I placed the establishing shots at the beginning of the music video where the song has four clear beats. Then made each shot 0.5 seconds to be in time with the music. These are the shots I chose.

Establishing Shots
We wanted some establishing shots to set the scene as when we watched it back we thought the music video started very abruptly. We filmed some potential shots at the park and inside and outside of the school.

Cameras
I used three different cameras throughout A2.
First I used a Samsung Phone tor record the prelim, then for the music video I sed a Nikon DSLR and a GoPro. The Nikon was used for the majority of the music video and the GoPro was used for the bike shots and receipt shot.
