This music video follows the codes and conventions of an Indie music video by having a strong narrative.
Also it has minimal lip syncing, and as I plan to have no lip syncing in my music video I can refer to this video for inspiration.
I am currently in my second year of Media Studies and I also study Maths and Psychology.

No Lip Syncing
As a group we unanimously decided that we want little or no lip syncing in the music video and it is a narrative music video about their journey following the map. There was previously an idea to have a few quick clips of people lip syncing but when storyboarding we realised two things; one is that we wouldn't have enough time and two, it would disrupt the flow of the video. Adding lip syncing would go against the conventions of a narrative music video which is something we didn't want to do.

One Foot - Walk The Moon
From watching a few music videos by Walk The Moon I have concluded that the band mostly has performance videos. This is good because I want our videos to be unique and therefore subvert the themes of the original band.

Finally we have chosen a song for our music video. The reason why we chose this song as its upbeat and we could visually show what some of the lyrics are showing.
Also we plan to use 3 actors/actresses in our video, and we want them to be physically different in terms of ethnicity, which brings a literal meaning to the song title 'Different Colours'.
Along with having a strong narrative, the underlying message in our music video is about friendship and the chorus represents this by repeating the words "We carry each other". This will be shown in our video by having each teenager dependent on another for support throughout.
