Song ideas

We looked at potential song ideas for our music video.
So far we have:

Hungry like the wolf by Duran Duran
Devil you know by X Ambassadors
Renegades by X Ambassadors
King for a Day by Kasabian
Weekend by the Misters


My personal favourite is King for a Day as I think it would fit our video idea well as it is upbeat.

Video Ideas

We brainstormed through a few ideas until I mentioned that we could film something in school as it is easily accessible for us. However Sophie said that she wants there to be some sort of narrative, not just have kids around school doing random things, so I suggested that maybe the kids could find something that leads them around town, for example a map. Then we had to come up with something that they find at the end of the music video and we came up with limited options that didn't fit our idea. Instead I put forward the idea that the find a box, and the last shot is a point of view where the camera is placed in the box looking at the kids when they open it, and the music video ends with their faces in shock. Therefore making it a cliff hanger as the audience have no idea what they found. This forces the audience to continue to think about our music video after they have watched it as they are thinking of their own ideas as to what the kids found.

This music video only consists of one location which is interesting because the people in the location make up the performance and narrative.

Group Change

Today the teachers decided to change our groups and now I am working with Morgan, Phoebe and Sophie.

Previously we had the idea for a fun, upbeat, colourful music video but Phoebe and Sophie have completely different ideas, so we decided to scrap all our ideas and come up with a different one.

In class we made a list of items we could use in our music video that would fit the vibe we're going after as they are quite random and vibrant.

Song Choice

'On the Regular' by Shamir is the song we have chosen because of its strong beat and the lyrics are about being yourself no matter what that is and i believe that fits into our music video as it will be crazy and random which is how the people in our video will act; they're representing themselves. 

According to OCR exam guidelines there can't be any swearing, and unfortunately this song has some strong language. Luckily I have found a clean version that we can use.
